Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 January 2026 · Effective on purchase

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of RIVET, a self-hosted server-security agent supplied by ZYNTHECK, a company registered in the Netherlands ("ZYNTHECK", "we", "us"). By purchasing, installing or using RIVET you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.

1

What you get

RIVET is licensed, not sold. On payment you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run one copy of RIVET on a single server you own or control, for the tier you purchased.

Two tiers are available. SOLO (€49) includes SSH, Nginx and Apache log monitoring, real-time IP blocking, country-level geo-blocking, live log streaming and security alerts. PRO (€99) includes everything in SOLO plus the Web Application Firewall, Security Score, Threat Intelligence, Attack Origins and data export.

>
2

Licence scope

Your licence is per-server and non-transferable. Each licence key activates RIVET on one host. To protect additional servers you must purchase additional licences.

You may not sublicense, rent, lease, resell or redistribute RIVET or your licence key.
You may not remove or alter licensing, copyright or attribution notices.
A licence may be moved to a replacement server you control, but may not be shared across servers simultaneously.
>
3

Payment

Payments are processed by our reseller of record, Lemon Squeezy, as a one-time charge. Prices are shown inclusive or exclusive of VAT as indicated at checkout; applicable VAT is calculated and collected by Lemon Squeezy. No subscription or recurring charge applies.

>
4

Updates

Your tier includes updates and security patches released for the major version you purchased (v1.x). Future major versions may be offered as a separate paid upgrade. Updates are provided at our discretion and we do not guarantee any particular feature, release schedule or roadmap item.

>
5

Prohibited use

You must use RIVET lawfully and only on systems you own or are authorised to protect. You agree not to:

use RIVET to attack, probe, or interfere with systems you do not control;
reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software except to the extent permitted by mandatory Dutch law;
use RIVET in violation of any applicable export control, sanctions or data-protection law.
>
6

Intellectual property

RIVET, its source code, design, trademarks and documentation are and remain the exclusive property of ZYNTHECK. These Terms grant you a licence to use the software and transfer no ownership. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

>
7

Warranty disclaimer

RIVET is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that RIVET will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect or block every attack. Security software reduces risk; it does not eliminate it. You remain responsible for your own backups, configuration and security posture.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have as a consumer under mandatory Dutch law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

>
8

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ZYNTHECK’s total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to RIVET or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of the amount you actually paid for your licence or €100.

We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill or business interruption, even if advised of the possibility. This limitation does not apply to liability for intent, deliberate recklessness, or death or personal injury where such limitation is prohibited by law.

>
9

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold ZYNTHECK harmless from any claim, damage or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your unlawful use of RIVET or your breach of these Terms.

>
10

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

>
11

Disputes

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, save that mandatory consumer-protection rules may entitle a consumer to bring proceedings in their country of residence. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the matter informally.

>
12

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the product or the law. The version in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. Material changes affecting existing licences will be announced at rivet-security.com and, where we hold your email, by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
